Compact Gas Stove

A complete cook system for boiling water and simple meals when the power is gone.

In the box

  • 1.1L pot with insulated sleeve and handle
  • Burner, 1600W, with built-in wind protection
  • Three-leg stabiliser for the gas cartridge
  • Pot support for your own pots and pans
  • Lid
  • Mesh bag

The flame is small and steady, made for a kitchen table in the dark. The sleeve stays cool, so you can eat straight from the pot.

A 230g cartridge packs inside the pot together with the burner, stabiliser and pot support. The whole system goes in the mesh bag and takes the space of one item in your capsule.

  • EN 521 tested for safe outdoor cooking
  • Runs on standard EN 417 butane cartridges
  • Fits Primus Power Gas 230g, sold separately
  • Fits the Energy & Light capsule in the Kapsel Core system

Through seven days without power, water or heat, you keep a reliable way to boil water and heat food.

The stove is the heart of the Energy & Light capsule: boiled water and a hot meal are what make a long outage bearable. But a stove without light, drinking water and hygiene around it is only half an answer.

The component

What it is, and why it is in the system

Kapsel Compact Gas Stove is a portable gas stove for outdoor cooking only. It is used with threaded butane gas cartridges that comply with EN 417 (type 200). It is included in the Kapsel System to give you controlled heat and cooking during disruptions. The stove lets you boil water, prepare simple hot meals and drinks and support your other preparedness items when the electricity is gone.

Use

How to use it

Test the stove once in calm conditions outdoors so connecting the gas cartridge and lighting the flame feels familiar before you need it in a real disruption.
  1. Before first use, check that the stove is complete and undamaged. Make sure the O-ring and threads are clean and intact and place the stove on a stable, level, non-combustible surface outdoors, away from flammable materials.
  2. With the control valve closed, screw an EN 417 butane cartridge (type 200) straight into the connector. Tighten by hand without over-tightening. Check for leaks with soapy water around the connection. If bubbles appear, do not use the stove – close the valve, remove the cartridge and repeat the installation.
  3. Place a suitable pot or cooking vessel on the supports. Do not exceed the recommended pot size or capacity and make sure the pot stands securely.
  4. Open the valve slowly and ignite the burner with the built-in igniter or a lighter, depending on the model. Keep hands and face to the side. Adjust the flame with the valve and never leave the stove unattended while it is burning.
  5. After cooking, close the valve fully and wait until the flame has gone out and the stove has cooled completely before moving or packing it.
  6. For transport and storage, always remove the gas cartridge. Store gas cartridges cool, dry and upright according to the cartridge manufacturer’s instructions, and store the stove dry and protected from impact.

Scenarios

When you will need it

The Compact Gas Stove is for real disruptions and outdoor situations where you need simple cooking, not for everyday room heating.
  • Power outages and infrastructure failures: Use the stove outdoors in a safe, well-ventilated area to boil water, heat simple meals or prepare hot drinks when the electricity is gone and electric cookers do not work.
  • At home, cabins, countryside and road trips: Pack the stove together with your Kapsel System for cabins, countryside houses or road trips where you may not have reliable access to a kitchen but can cook safely outdoors.
  • Boiling water for hygiene and drinking: When you are unsure about water quality, boiling water is one of the most effective ways to reduce harmful microorganisms. Combine boiling with your other Kapsel water tools when needed.
  • Practice runs and weekend tests: Use the stove on a planned practice day to cook outside, boil water and test your setup. When you are done, let it cool, remove the cartridge and pack it back into your Energy & Light capsule so it is ready for real use.
